5 Minutes from a Thankful Heart: Roots

Combining 5 Minute Friday with Thankful Heart Day 2. Today’s topic from Lisa-Jo at the Gypsy Mama is Roots!

6:34 AM Start!

I am thankful for my roots. I am thankful for my spiritual roots that go back to my Great Grandmothers, Viola and Paulina. They were great women of faith and great leaders for their families.

I am thankful for my physical roots here in the Dallas Fort Worth area. My grandparents and great grandparents lived in this area and started their families here. It gives me a great sense of stability knowing that my family has roots here for generations and that I am providing roots for my children here as well. I am so thankful that both of my parents and most of my sibling live in this area so that all of our children can grow up together as we did with our cousins.

I am thankful for my roots, and that I know many of the people who dug deep to plant me right where I am. I am thankful for my roots.

6:39 AM Stop!

  1. I like how you combined your Thankful Heart with 5 minute friday. I haven’t figured out how to do that yet so I just moved my Family, Faith and Friends Friday to another day. BTW, love visited Dallas/Ft Worth last summer. Great place to have roots.
