Personal Blog by Rhonda Crowdis Hardisty

Today I am thankful for holidays. As a stressed out school teacher, I am looking forward to Thanksgiving more this year than I ever have before. I am looking forward to time with family and time to relax without worrying whether my lesson plans are ready, my students are being educated, my paperwork is complete and my teaching strategies are appropriate.

Thansgiving break allows me to catch up on appointments I put off during the school week, and sleep I miss out on when I get to school at 6:00 every morning. I am so looking forward to sleeping until 8:00 every day, rather than leaving the house at 5:45 am.

Thanksgiving is a week without after school meetings, in home trainings, or daily student reports to parents.

I am thankful for a week to reflect on the things for which I am thankful and time to clear my head, but I will be most thankful when I return to school on the week following Thanksgiving because I will certainly miss my students while we are apart for 9 days!
