I am thankful for my husband who gets up 30 minutes early every work day to drop me off at school on the way to his own job. I am thankful that he also gets up on his days off to not only drop me off at school, but also stays and works in my classroom until my students arrive about an hour and 45 minutes later. He does everything from cutting out laminated letters and numbers to using his laser level to place velcro dots on my wall for those numbers, all 100 of them.
I am thankful for my husband who watches shows and movies of my choosing, but also explains his science fiction shows to me every time we watch them because I fell asleep the last time we watched it. He also puts up with me doing one of two things any time we watch a movie or television; work on the computer, or fall asleep. It doesn’t seem to matter what we are watching, whether it’s my choice or his, afternoon or evening, I fall asleep if I’m not working on something at the same time. I guess maybe it’s the only time I slow down and relax, other than bedtime.
I am thankful for my husband who accepts me with all of my flaws and joins me in welcoming into our home extra family members who need our love and support for a period of time, even when I don’t ask, but rather tell him they are moving in as they walk through the door. He loves them as if they were his own, biting his tongue and walking away when things are not going the way he believes they should at a given moment.
I am thankful for my husband and looking forward to what God has for our future.
Who or what are you thankful for today?
