Personal Blog by Rhonda Crowdis Hardisty

I am so thankful for the holiday season which starts with Halloween and ends with going back to school after New Years. There is such a spirit in the air of goodwill toward men, peace, and hope.

Maybe it’s the fact that people will be visiting with relatives they only see once a year.

Maybe it’s the fact that people will be getting time off, because we all know that’s what I’m looking forward to.

Maybe it’s the anticipation of what’s to come; what will you get for Christmas? What will you and your friends or children be for Halloween? What will the New Year bring?

Maybe it’s the joy in the reminder that Christ was born, died for our sins and rose again, that we get from this time of year.

Maybe it’s waiting for the look on the faces of the children when they see Santa for the first time, or the first time this year. Or the reaction they have to new toys in their stockings!

This time of year there is a magic in the air that can only be described as Christmas! It’s the celebration of a gift that was given to us so many years ago that continues to give every moment of every day. Christ is the reason for the holiday season. The gifts we give to family and friends are only symbols of the gift of eternal life we are given every single day.

Remember the reason for the season as you meet with family and friends in the next month as the holidays take off full steam ahead.

Take His peace with you and share it with your families, just as Christ has shared His peace that passes all understanding with us.

Share the hope of Christ as you visit with family and friends this year. Share with  them the gift of life that only Christ can give. It would be the best Christmas present ever!

Take His love with you and share it. Don’t expect it from others if you are not sharing it with them.

I am thankful for Christmas time and the holiday season that surrounds it. There are so many opportunities for us to share His love with others.
