Thankful Heart: Day 11 – Veterans

Our Crowded Heart

I am thankful for our military and our veterans who have fought here and on foreign soil for our rights and freedom. So many of us take for granted the rights that we have as a nation. They have no idea what it would be like to live in a foreign country and give up the right to bear arms, the right to freedom of speech, the right to publicly assemble and worship our God, just to name a few. I pray that we all realize the significance of these rights and learn to appreciate them more fully before we lose them.

I am thankful for friends and their families who have served in Iraq and Afganistan in recent years. They have left their families behind to protect our freedoms, often missing the births of their own children, the first day of school, a birthday, and many…
